It was held last month at The Polygon Gallery in North Vancouver — a contemporary ar gallery that sits right on the water, with a second-floor wall of windows looking out over the Burrard Inlet and the downtown Vancouver skyline beyond it. The kind of view that doesn’t need to be decorated. The kind of room that doesn’t need much from anyone.
The couple were both art students. Their wedding looked like it had been curated by a gallery . Every choice felt intentional. The whole afternoon had the feeling of walking through a quiet exhibition where the artwork happens to be a wedding.
We’re Cetus Photo, a Vancouver-based wedding photography studio. The Polygon Gallery is one of my favourite wedding venues in the city, and this particular day was one of the most cohesive editorial weddings we’ve photographed all year. We want to share how it unfolded — and what we’d want any couple drawn to this kind of wedding to know.

Why The Polygon Gallery?
The Polygon Gallery is a contemporar photography and art museum on the North Vancouver waterfront. The building itself is a quiet piece of architecture clean lines, soft concrete, a long second floor space framed by floor to ceiling windows. The view through those windows is the real venue. The downtown Vancouver skyline rises across the water, and on a clear day the whole room feels like it’s floating somewhere between the city and the sea.
For couples who are drawn to galleries, museums, minimalist interiors, contemporary architecture — or who simply don’t want a traditional ballroom — the Polygon is one of the best venues in the Lower Mainland. It rewards restraint.

Thinking About a Polygon Gallery Wedding?

Here’s what we’d want you to know if this kind of wedding is calling you.
On the Venue
The Polygon Gallery hosts a limited number of
weddings each year and has its own booking process and pricing. We always recommend reaching out to them directly through their website for current rates, available dates, and what’s included.
On Guest Count
Polygon weddings work best with 20 to 80 guests. The space can technically hold more, but past about 80 the room starts to feel crowded, and the architecture loses its breath. If you’re planning something larger, you may want to consider a different venue. If you’re planning something smaller, the Polygon scales beautifully down to as few as 10 to 15 people.
