The morning began quietly and calmly. The groom stood alone on the small terrace outside the VanDusen restaurant. The light was soft, filtered through early leaves. He adjusted his cufflinks, took a deep breath, and prepared for the day ahead.
Inside the bridal suite, light poured in through the window as the bride had her makeup done. Her eyes were soft and focused. The shimmer of her jewelry caught the light, and the room moved gently around her.
At the mirror, s

he and her bridesmaids shared a few laughs while fixing hair and dresses. The atmosphere was light and real. Music played faintly in the background while the room buzzed with soft chatter and quiet joy.
Her dress hung nearby, waiting.
Layers of fabric held their shape beautifully in the morning light. On the table, her shoes, rings, perfume, and invitation were carefully arranged, each one photographed with intention.
Once ready, we stepped outside to a blooming wall of white hydrangeas. She stood in front of it, holding her bouquet. Her pose was simple, her expression calm. The space felt open and still. She didn’t need to move. The moment was already full.
Getting ready at VanDusen feels different. The garden offers space to breathe, to slow down, to be present before everything begins. It’s not just a beautiful location, it’s a place where the rhythm of the day can unfold gently, one honest moment at a time.
